We are less than 2 months away from kicking off our 4th Annual Mystery Skill-builder BOM! Dawna, the owner of The Quilt Store, and her Mom "Mama Fran," owner of Village Dry Goods in UT, design a fabulous mystery sampler quilt each year, exclusive to the two shops. This is an opportunity to not only complete a beautiful surprise, but to grow as a quilter and learn new tools and techniques, which are presented each month at The Quilt Store from October to June.

Flower Box Friends BOM

Month 1 has begun, but it's not too late to join this 12 month BOM!
Experience the rising trend of wool applique with Flower Box Friends designed by Pastthyme Patterns and designer Darci Schipnewski. This 12-month club features a different wool applique flower block each month, divided into two 6-month Seasons. Each flower is referred to as a "Petal" and measure approximately 8" and can placed on a 12" square background.
Secure your spot with a one-time registration fee of $25.00 and the first month's payment of $32.99. Your credit card information will be securely collected for charges over the next twelve months.

Quilt and Care Together
Please join our charity quilting circle "Quilt and Care Together," benefiting ABC Quilts for Kids. We will be meeting October 25th from 10-3pm at North Metro Church to sew.
If you can't make it to our sew day, but would still like to help, please stop by the store on Thursday, September 4th to pick up free, pre-packaged materials to piece a donation quilt top (or 2). Finished tops can be returned to the store at your convenience.

Taught by our shop owner and award-winning quilter, Dawna, this class will focus on straight line quilting using a walking foot. You will learn how to create the "quilt sandwich," how to appropriately baste your quilt, how to mark your quilt for quilting, and methods to keep your quilt flat and your stitches straight. Scrap School--Squares 4 Ways -- September 17th, 10am-1pm
The humble square, so simple yet so versatile. Use your fabric scraps to make square-based units in your patchwork quilt blocks. We’ll explore at least 4 ways to use your scrap squares to bring a nice variety to your scrap quilt projects!

PEDAL TO THE METAL!! This class is like driver's ed for sewing with a sewing machine. Learn how to use your sewing machine for the first time or to refresh your memory. Patten will walk you through all of the parts of your machine and how to use the tools that came with your machine. You'll also make a little project to practice what you've learned! Yes, you CAN make a really nice rug on your sewing machine! In class you will learn how to make a rug or placemat using Jelly Roll strips and batting. At this month’s Scrap School learn how to make 3 kinds of gift bags - great for Halloween Trick or Treating, or for Holiday gift giving. Use the scrap fabrics provided in class or bring your own scraps and orphan blocks. Bring scraps of fabric for Christmas, Hanukah, and Halloween themes, or just whatever you like to make a gift bag great for Birthday, Wedding, or Baby gifts.
