Prior to retirement and finding her way to our little shop, Cindy was a charge nurse in the OR for 40 years! Cindy is quiet, but she's smart as a whip and has great customer service skills, as you would expect from a caregiver with her experience. Cindy is a very talented quilter, too, and has been honing her craft for 49 years. She says her first quilt was made of 6" cordoroy pieces, with cordoroy backing, and upholstery batting, which she tied. She says she still has it! We all have to start somwhere, and by looking at Cindy's immaculate quilts, with beautiful wool adornments, it's obvious she has just kept growing. She says, "I still take classes to this day, even as a seasoned quilter," and her recommendation to new quilters is to always keep learning and taking classes. There's so much to learn about quilting and the techniques and tools are endless! You can learn a lot from Cindy too! She is our Civil War reproduction expert and heads up our Simple Whatnot's Club. She loves Kim Diel and Kansas Troubles fabrics, and she's delighted to help customers discover these fabrics and use them in their own quilts. If you don't see Cindy in the shop for a while, it's probably because she's enjoying her retirement traveling with her husband, decorating her mountain home, or hanging out at a retreat with her quilting buds! If you do catch her, be sure to say hello!
