Community Update September 2024

The Quilt Store Logo - Flower and needle

Cool, cozy nights under a handmade quilt are nearly here-- I can't wait! And The Quilt Store has some great opportunities this month to learn new skills and stock up on gift-giving supplies. We hope you'll have a look at what's going on this month to get you ready for the change in seasons.

We have a great winter-long project, that will chase those seasonal blues away and get you looking forward to Spring!

Last year, Dawna and Fran's 2nd Saturday Skill Builder "Land That I Love," a patriotic theme, was a smash hit! Many participants have already signed up again to participate in the Spring Themed mystery skill builder, which kicks off this October.  If you want to become a better quilter and build a beautiful Spring quilt, don't wait to sign up TODAY!

After you sign up for the mystery quilt, please mark your calendar for QUILT-A-FAIR!

The annual Quilt-a-Fair is here again! There will be amazing vendor booths (like ours), special exhibits by Quilts of Valor, kids exhibits, demonstrations, sales, and more! Please stop by and say hello! We are Booth number 603 along the middle isle.

We are Celebrating Project Jelly Roll!

Project Jelly Roll is an annual quilting celebration held on the third Saturday of September, and this year it’s happening on September 21, 2024! It's the perfect excuse to grab your favorite Jelly Roll and turn those strips into something truly special. Whether you're a seasoned quilter or just getting started, Jelly Rolls are one of our favorite precuts to whip up a gorgeous project in no time! The Jelly Roll Slide class includes the pattern, too! Click here to see the supply list and to sign up! Seats are limited.

Current turn around time is 3-4 weeks

Our "Guaranteed Before Christmas" drop-off deadline is October 18th

Our Featured Longarmer
Johanna "Jo" Burian is one of our awesome longarm operators. She has been with the Quilt Store since March 2023. Jo describes her favorite type of quilting as "Traditional Modernism," meaning she likes to blend traditional quilt blocks with modern colors and fabric styles. Although her favorite color is purple she almost never uses it in her quilts; blue is her the most-used color. Jo says she LOVES admiring all of our customer quilts, and that's her favorite part about being your longarm quilter!

Would you like to take our Crumb Block class and learn how to bust those scraps?! Email us at quilters@thequiltstore.com and let us know that you're interested! We'll add you to our waitlist and let you know when the next session will be available.

Did you catch this week's Facebook Live? Dawna and Jo gave some great tips on choosing quilt patterns without being swayed by the colors used by the designer.  They used this NEW Fabric, "Sable and Scarlet," by Windom Fabrics as one of their examples. Check it out here!  Be sure to watch every Thursday at 10am on Facebook for more Quilt Store news.
